Marissa Steinhofer

I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, currently studying Jewish Studies. I am from Shorewood, Wisconsin. I enjoy hanging out with friends and photography. Judaism is a big part of my life; I go to temple and I have gone to camp for the past eleven years. I really enjoy attending events at Hillel and meeting new people. My name is Yael Blatt. I am originally from New York, and have lived in Milwaukee for the past 12 years. Currently I am studying Kinesiology with a sub-major of pre-Physical Therapy at UW-Milwaukee. Jesse Duchon

My name is Jesse Duchon and I am a junior studying architecture at UW-Milwaukee. I grew up in Edina, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. Before college, I participated in BBYO in the North Star region and was fortunate to attend Jewish youth camps such as Herzl camp and Camp Teko where I built strong Jewish connections that I still value today. Entering college, I lacked connection to the Jewish community and found it hard to practice Judaism during my first year at UWM. After meeting a Jewish student who invited me to a Hillel event, I was warmly welcomed and instantly met other Jewish students, finding a sense of community far from home. Today, Hillel is a very important part of my life, and I am honored to represent Hillel and the Jewish community as an intern for Hillel. Jake Hoffman

My name is Jake Hoffman and I’m a sophmore at UW-Milwaukee pursuing a degree in Communications. I was born and raised in Golden Valley, Minnesota and graduated from Hopkins High School in 2011. I love Ultimate Frisbee, the outdoors, hanging with friends and drawing. I have been active in Jewish organizations like NFTY and BBYO since I was in junior high school and I attended Camp Herzl for 2 years. Being from Minnesota, I wasn’t sure where I could find a Jewish community in Milwaukee. However, Hillel was incredibly warm, fun, and welcoming to me my freshman year at UWM so I’m thrilled to be a student intern this year. Talia Schumacher

My name is Talia Schumacher and I am a sophomore at UW-Milwaukee where I am majoring in social work. I am from Golden Valley, Minnesota, where I was very involved in North Star Region BBYO in high school, which paved my love for being involved with Jewish organizations. Because I go to college away from home, I made it a point to get involved in the Jewish community and meet other Jewish students on campus. Hillel has an extremely welcoming community that I am proud to be a part of. I am so excited to be a student intern this year at Hillel so I can welcome new students.
