SPFY Youth Group Advisor

Congregation Shalom is in search of a part-time Youth Group Advisor for grades 7 and 8. Responsibilities include: Act as liaison between Synagogue and SPFY Youth Group. Plan and run all aspects of approximately 8 age appropriate events. Attend Youth staff meetings. Coordinate publicity, as necessary. Hours vary. JCRC Associate Director

Hours: 20 hours per week; some evening hours necessary to attend events
Job Function: The JCRC Associate Director will assist with the work of community relations and public affairs and lead the Israel advocacy efforts at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fulfill community relations functions as directed by the JCRC director
- Help work on JCRC programs, such as: Public Education Partnerships, Civility, advocacy and public policy work, interfaith relations, social justice efforts, anti-Semitism monitoring/response
-Coordinate Israel advocacy efforts in Milwaukee
- Staff the Israel Advocacy & Education Task force –work with volunteer leaders to set meeting agendas and facilitate meetings
- Initiate community wide programs to convene the community around Israel
- Write e-mail communications
- Coordinate a community response to anti-Israel programs – e-mail communication, network with community partners, develop strategic talking points, attend programs
- Maintain and grow the Israel Action Alert network to expand its reach in the Jewish community
- Maintain the JCRC’s Facebook page with news articles and emergency information on a regular basis
- Monitor local media for Israel coverage
- Write articles or letters to the editor for local newspapers, as necessary
- Speak with media as necessary
