Approximately 10% of Middlebury`s student body is Jewish, and members of Hillel have included students from all denominations of Judaism. The Middlebury College Jewish Center is the locale of a rich and varied program of lectures, discussions, brunches, and regular Shabbat evening services and dinners, and includes a dairy/vegetarian kitchen. The Middlebury dining halls always have a vegetarian menu but there is no kosher meal plan to date. Middlebury students are the driving force behind their Hillel, creating dynamic and student centered cultural, social and religious programming. This is a warm, welcoming environment where students are constantly learning from each other to deepen their Jewish identities and experience. Students have access to Hebrew language and culture instruction and extracurriculars as well as a Jewish Studies minor.
